today in class we discussed at what age classification our film should be. as this will determine our target audience which will important for making a poster or magazine page. As we want to include a large proportion of the teenage population is under 18. i feel it necessary to make the age classification 15. We have scripted for strong language and scenes that younger viewers may find frightening or disturbing which fits in well with the BBFC classification for a 15 rated film ,. According to the BBFC website, an 18 rated film can show
- very strong violence
- frequent strong language (e.g. 'f***') and / or very strong language (e.g. ‘c***’)
- strong portrayals of sexual activity
-scenes of sexual violence
-strong horror
- strong blood and gore
-real sex (in some circumstances)
- discriminatory language and behaviour
As our film has been scripted for a small number of high classed strong language i feel a certificate 15 is a suitable rating for our production.
Here is a link to the BBFC website which sends you to the 15 rating specification.
